That pain has no deeper reason. That suffering is random.
That love, meaning, and goodness are accidents.
That’s not “neutral.” That takes a lot of faith.
It asks you to believe that everything you care about came from nothing, means nothing, and is going nowhere.
Belief in an infinite Creator who is good says something different.
Not that life is easy.
Not that suffering is fake.
Not that pain is “good.”
But that even when life hurts, it matters.
Even suffering has depth (we’re partners in building the world to come, an era of eternal life and peace). Even pain can lead somewhere.
That belief isn’t special pleading.
It doesn’t say, “everything needs a cause except one thing.”
It says, things that begin and change (like creation) don’t explain themselves, and existence itself points beyond itself.
Atheism isn’t more logical by default. It just feels simpler because it asks less of meaning.nBelief doesn’t erase sadness. It gives sadness a place to go.
When pain has meaning, it doesn’t turn into hopelessness. And suffering isn’t just something to survive.
It becomes effort.
It becomes repair.
It becomes something we work through.
So when goodness is fully revealed, there’s no shame in enjoying it, because we’ll know we helped build it.
Not as a free gift.
But through responsibility, courage, protest, love, and effort.
That’s why belief in an Infinite Creator that desires a relationship with us, often leads to less despair.
Not because life is easier, but because life still feels worth living.
