Because every nation was invited to Sinai.

Every nation had the chance to meet G-d face-to-face. But when they heard the Torah (hebrew bible) was about awe,

yearning, and spiritual pleasure, not physical comfort, they stepped back.

They said: “What’s the point?” Only Israel showed up. And even a few thousand Egyptians joined them. That choice mattered.

It was the difference between:

Living for survival, comfort, and pleasure.

Living for connection, awe, and Divine light.

But there’s a middle path too. When a non-Jew lives by the Noahide laws, it shows their intentions are purer,

they seek morality, responsibility, and truth. Still, it’s not the same as stepping fully into Sinai.

Joining the Jewish nation meant choosing the highest path, to make life about yearning for G-d Himself. Yet from another view… None of us can truly give G-d the respect He deserves.

We are all finite. We are all sinners before Him equally. That’s why the Sinai encounter was pure gift. G-d chose to meet us anyway. To lift our yearning above our limits.

The words of Kabbalah weren’t about blame. They were about a fork in the road.

One path circles the self.

One path reaches for morality.

The other opens to the Infinite.
