On its own, it’s powerful, but raw, it’s dangerous.
Run it through wires and bulbs, and suddenly you get light, warmth, energy, power you can actually use.
G-d’s light works in a similar way.
It’s infinite at its source, yet it flows through vessels, so it can be revealed here as kindness and compassion. And that’s why righteous individuals are needed.
They’re part of the “wiring” of the world, channeling infinite G-dlinessinto a form we can hold, so His compassion and kindness reaches us in real life.
