Imagine this:
An infinite, all-powerful G-d actually cares deeply about your daily choices. Sounds strange, right? We often picture G-d as someone far away, too big or perfect to need anything from us.
But the truth is surprisingly different—and comforting: G-d chooses to experience pleasure from you.
Why? Because G-d is literally infinite love itself.
And here’s the crazy thing about love:
1. Love doesn’t care about power.
2. Love doesn’t care about perfection.
3. Love only cares about connection.
Love seeks a response. Think of a parent smiling as their toddler proudly hands them a messy drawing. The parent doesn’t need another scribble-filled paper. But that drawing gives them incredible joy.
Because it’s an act of connection, of love returned. G-d feels the same way about your life and choices.
When you:
1. Do even an act of kindness
2. Pause for a quick prayer
3. Choose compassion over rage
You’re basically handing G-d your “messy drawing.” You’re saying, “Here, I made this just for You.” And G-d feels pure joy, not because He needs it, but because He deeply desires connection with you. Feeling lonely or disconnected lately?
Try this simple practice today:
1. Notice one small choice you can make with kindness (even just a thoughtful word).
2. Picture/monologue yourself giving that choice directly to G-d, like a child handing over a drawing.
This isn’t just nice imagery. This is how love works. Your small, daily actions give joy to the infinite.
