Sin creates distance, but that distance makes repentance possible.
Distance isn’t failure. It’s an invitation.
When nothing works — not your habits, your understanding, or your feelings, you’re forced to let go. That surrender isn’t weakness. It’s how you reach His essence.
Because G-d’s essence isn’t revealed through habits rooted in ego:
Fight — always proving yourself, mistrust
Flight — avoiding what’s real
Freeze — shutting down
Fawn — people pleasing
His essence is revealed when you admit: “I can’t do this on my own.”
From that humility, new habits can grow. Not survival habits, but habits of openness, kindness, and truth.
As children, we only receive. But through repentance, we become like a mother, birthing new Divine compassion into the world. Because distance doesn’t end the relationship. It carries you to the place where you see no distance exists, the place you recognize His unconditional love.
