Not far away watching from the outside.
Kabbalah uses light to explain how G-d connects to the world. Not because G-d is light, but because light helps us understand something important.
Light has two simple qualities:
1. Light shows there is a source
If you see light, you know something is shining.
2. Light is not the source itself
The sun isn’t inside the beam.
The source stays bigger than what you see. This is how G-d relates to the world.
That’s why:
1. What you do matters
2. The choices you make matter
3. What you feel inside matters
A relationship with G-d doesn’t mean understanding Him.
It means:
1. responding — noticing life and answering it
2. listening — paying attention, not just talking
3. living the right way — practicing compassion, healthy boundaries, justice, kindness
4. trusting — staying connected even when things don’t make sense (like reminding yourself that everything comes from One Source, and feeling awe)
Just like with someone you love, you don’t understand them all the time, but the relationship is real.
