Awe is the feeling that something is greater than you, and what you do matters.
It’s how a relationship with The Creator begins.
Some people meet awe through sadness and compassion
For them, awe feels like:
1. “I can’t fully reach this.”
2. “I’m not in control of everything.”
3. “I care, even though it is hard.”
This is what sadness means here. Not despair. Not hopelessness. It’s the feeling of distance.
Longing means:
“I want to be close, even though there is space between us.”
Compassion grows because:
When you notice distance, you become gentle with yourself and others.
That’s how relationship with the Creator of the universe begins for them.
Others meet awe through fear and responsibility
For them, awe feels like:
1. “This is real.”
2. “My choices matter.”
3. “I can’t ignore this.”
This kind of fear is not panic. It’s the feeling of seriousness. Humility comes after that fear: when you realize you don’t control everything, but you are still responsible.
Responsibility is how relationship begins for them.
These are not two different kinds of awe
Both paths include:
1. sadness (I am limited, the Creator is infinite, great distance exists)
2. wonder (this is bigger than me)
3. humility (I am not in charge of everything)
They just come in a different order/style. This isn’t about which way is better
Some people open to relationship by caring and feeling distance. Some people open to relationship by taking responsibility and choosing action. Different personalities. Different meditations on the Creators greatness.
Same awe.
Same relationship.
In the Messianic era, responsibility and action will reveal deeper unity.
