Feeling like you just don’t “get” G-d?

Maybe that’s exactly the point.

I used to think if G-d is infinite, He must be impossible to really understand. And, it made me feel lonely—like I was missing something everyone else had.

But here’s what I learned:

G-d isn’t just infinite. He also knows how to “step down” and show up in limited, understandable ways.

Think about an author:

They can dream up endless stories. But to actually share a story, they limit it.

Characters.

Places.

Moments.

G-d does something similar.

He purposely expresses Himself in the clear, limited world we see every day. Why does He do this? So we can actually know Him. Feeling overwhelmed by the world’s complexity?

That’s not a flaw. It’s exactly where you’re meant to start connecting.

Try this simple practice:

1. When things feel too big, remind yourself:

“G-d chose limits to be close to me.”

2. Instead of trying to grasp G-d’s infinity, find Him in something small today—a simple kindness, acts of humility/justice, a quiet moment, your breath.

You’re not missing out.

You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be: Finding G-d in the ordinary.
