“A person can be very perceptive. and still not be self aware.”
A person can be very aware of what is happening around them.
They may notice problems. They may notice other people’s behavior. They may even analyze situations very well. But that does not automatically mean they are self-aware.
Self-awareness means something deeper.
It means asking questions like:
1. What am I feeling right now?
2. Why did I react that way?
3. What part of my personality showed up in that moment?
4. Did my fear, ego, or insecurity influence my reaction?
Awareness looks outward. Self-awareness also turns inward. Without self-awareness, a person can see many problems in the world but never notice the patterns inside themselves. And when that happens, they keep repeating the same reactions while thinking the problem is always somewhere else.
