That phrase has excused abuse at every level:
In families — abusive parents, partners or siblings.
In institutions — exploiters in power.
In governments — corruption hidden.
And it’s the same excuse that helps religious schemes survive.
The Mormon church thrives because people say:
“But look how kind they are.”
Kindness in one moment doesn’t erase harm in another. If someone’s kindness keeps you silent about their abuse,
that kindness has been weaponized.
Don’t confuse kindness with safety.
