Most people chase happiness.

But happiness is brief.

Happiness is what you feel when you get what you want, a result, an achievement, a desire fulfilled.

Joy is different.

Joy is spiritual.

Joy is what happens when you realize your entire life — every breath, every moment, is a gift from your Creator.

And the harder truths:

Suffering exists so that joy can one day be felt without shame.

And the Creator’s unity, His oneness with everything, is deeper and harder to grasp than we admit.

Buddhism gives powerful spiritual gifts – presence, compassion, awareness. But it doesn’t help you know the Creator who loves you. Jewish wisdom adds the missing piece: a relationship with the One you’re waking up to.

Because in the World to Come, when G-d’s kindness and justice is fully revealed, you won’t feel embarrassed to receive good. You’ll feel ready, because in this world you learned, struggled, grew, and chose Him with acts of compassion + boundaries, even through the darkness.

Happiness comes from getting. Joy comes from knowing you were given.
