They don’t believe they matter. Even when something huge is right in front of them. Real awe isn’t just about feeling small. It’s about feeling connected.
For me, awe used to be hard. I’d look at stars, oceans, amazing things, but I’d secretly think, “I don’t really matter.” And guess what? I felt nothing.
Then I realized:
To feel awe, I had to believe I was part of it. So now, when I see something beautiful, I remind myself:
“I’m part of this. I matter.”
Do I sometimes doubt it? Yes.
Do I keep reminding myself anyway? Absolutely.
Awe doesn’t start when you feel tiny. It starts when you know you’re connected.
