I know it sounds strange. But one day, in the Messianic Era, we’ll look back at exile and yearn for a part of it.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆:

In exile, finding G-d often feels like looking for light in a pitch-black forest. It’s uncertain. It’s not easy. 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗶𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲, the awe is unlike anything else.

What do most people want from G-d in exile?

Most people want:

→ A clear sense of G-d’s presence.

→ No more confusion or spiritual struggle.

→ Constant light and clarity.

What will we miss when the darkness ends?

And yes—when Moshiach comes, we’ll have all that. But…

What can we do with the darkness right now?

One day, we’ll only be able to remember it. And miss it. So for now— don’t just pray for the darkness to end.

Why will we miss the darkness one day?

In the Messianic Era we will have clear light and no confusion. But the deep awe of finding G-d in the dark will not exist anymore. It is a part of G-d we can only know here, in exile. So one day we will only be able to remember it, and miss it.

How can I find awe in a dark time?

Don't only pray for the darkness to end. Find the awe in it while you can. This takes awareness: noticing that the hard, uncertain search for G-d holds something rare. That awe is a part of G-d we can only know here, and one day we will only remember it.
