But the truth is simpler, and deeper:
Everyone is living in some level of survival mode because G-d conceals how much He’s giving. If we constantly felt Infinite support, we wouldn’t have an independent self. There would be no “I,” no inner world,
no real relationship, only instinct.
Why does G-d hide how much He is giving?
So G-d hides His giving, and inside that concealment something appears: consciousness, ego, the feeling of “me.” And when a self feels separate, it also feels vulnerable.
That’s where survival mode begins.
What does survival mode do to your nervous system?
Your nervous system works overtime:
1. scanning for danger,
2. preparing for disappointment,
3. overthinking every decision,
4. trying to control what feels unpredictable.
That’s where trauma patterns form:
Fight (which often shows up as narcissism) tries to overpower uncertainty.
Flight (which is avoidance) tries to avoid it.
Freeze (which looks like inaction or shutdown) tries not to feel it.
Fawn (which is people-pleasing) tries to appease it.
All of them are attempts to feel safe in a world where the Source of safety is hidden.
What is the secret hidden inside the concealment?
But here’s the secret:
G-d conceals His giving so that your choice to connect can reveal His unconditional love.
How does shame become humility?
When life feels separate, shame naturally appears:
“Maybe I’m not enough…”
“Maybe I’m on my own…”
But shame isn’t the end, it’s the beginning of transformation.
Shame becomes humility when you meet it with:
1. awareness, naming what you feel without judgment,
2. self-compassion, giving yourself the kindness you never received,
3. boundaries, creating enough safety to stay present,
4. honesty, telling the truth about your limits and needs.
Humility isn’t avoidance, it’s self-honesty:
“I’m finite, I make mistakes… and still infinitely loved.”
That choice, to open instead of defend, to relate instead of hide, reveals what the concealment was hiding:
His essence.
His unconditional love.
What changes when survival mode fades?
The love that only becomes visible through an independent soul choosing connection. And something shifts:
Your system softens.
Your mind stops gripping.
Your emotions stop defending.
Because survival mode fades when you trust that you’re not surviving alone. And that’s when life stops feeling like endurance… and starts feeling like relationship.

Questions people ask
Am I overreacting, or is something else going on?
Something else is going on. The truth is simpler, and deeper: everyone is living in some level of survival mode, because G-d conceals how much He is giving. When a self feels separate, it also feels vulnerable, so your nervous system keeps scanning for danger and preparing for disappointment.
What are fight, flight, freeze, and fawn trying to do?
They are all attempts to feel safe in a world where the Source of safety is hidden. Fight (which often shows up as narcissism) tries to overpower uncertainty. Flight (which is avoidance) tries to avoid it. Freeze (which looks like inaction or shutdown) tries not to feel it. Fawn (which is people-pleasing) tries to appease it.
Is shame a sign that something is wrong with me?
No. When life feels separate, shame naturally appears, in thoughts like “Maybe I’m not enough…” or “Maybe I’m on my own…” But shame is not the end; it is the beginning of transformation. Meet it with awareness, self-compassion, boundaries and honesty, and it becomes humility.
Is humility the same as avoiding how you feel?
Not at all. Humility is not avoidance; it is self-honesty. It sounds like “I’m finite, I make mistakes… and still infinitely loved.” It is the choice to open instead of defend, and to relate instead of hide, and that choice reveals what the concealment was hiding: His essence and His unconditional love.

The blog lists all the difference patterns to study, understanding patterns is how one can develop 'Daas' [felt knowing].
Update: As awe, trust, and love deepen, they can allow greater openness and intimacy with the Creator. That intimacy can include sadness when you notice how much more of His goodness can be revealed.
