The need to control everything is what keeps you in the dark

Providence (G-d’s care) Is a Lens—Not Luck

Listen to this articleReady

You and I could live the same exact day…

I might see chaos.

You might see kindness everywhere.

The difference isn’t the day.

It’s the lens we’re looking through.

The big truth:

Divine Providence is a state of mind.

The bigger the ego, the less you notice it.

What ego is really doing

Your ego’s job is to protect the image of yourself as separate from Hashem (the Creator).

So you can believe you exist independently from the Creator.

And it may work overtime to protect that image through:

Fight – control at all costs.

Flight – run before you get hurt.

Freeze – shut down, miss the cues.

Fawn – give yourself away to keep peace.

Each one blurs your ability to see Hashem’s kindness.

Maybe you’re not “unlucky.”

Maybe your ego just won’t let you notice the kindness.

How ego hides Divine Providence

1. Calls blessings “my hustle.”

2. Labels timing “good or bad luck.”

3. Gets loud, while Providence speaks soft.

Want to notice more?

Try this:

Pause 10 seconds before reacting—ask: “Where’s Hashem’s kindness right now?”

Spot 1 unseen kindness per hour—a breath, a view, a smile, a delay.

Share credit: “I showed up. Hashem opened the door.”

Bless the timing: If it moved or changed, mercy moved it.

Picture it:

Ego is city lights.

Providence is stars.

Dim the lights… and the sky appears.

The takeaway:

The louder the ego—and its 4 protectors—the quieter Hashem seems.

Lower them.

See more kindness.

Feel more awe.

Which of the 4 (Fight, Flight, Freeze, Fawn) hides kindness from you the most?

"The need to control everything is what keeps you in the dark. The bigger the ego, the less you see the kindness keeping you alive."

The blog lists all the difference patterns to study, understanding patterns is how one can develop 'Daas' [felt knowing].
Update: As awe, trust, and love deepen, they can allow greater openness and intimacy with the Creator. That intimacy can include sadness when you notice how much more of His goodness can be revealed.
