A relationship with a king begins with awe.

Awe is the felt awareness that you are living before Someone infinitely beyond you, and that awareness contains wonder, humility, and healthy fear.

Wonder, because His wisdom is far beyond what you can fully understand.

Humility, because you are not the Source, you do not see the whole story, and reality is not under your control.

Healthy fear, because your choices are real and matter.

That is the beginning of relationship.

Real pleasure is not escape.

It is not distraction, numbness, or getting whatever you want.

Real pleasure means being able to receive goodness without running from it, feeling ashamed of it, or turning it into ego.

The Creator does not need payment for His goodness, and love is not a transaction.

But human beings can feel shame when they receive goodness they do not feel ready to hold.

A person can be given love and still feel unworthy of it, receive something good and still sabotage it, or be handed pleasure and still feel empty inside.

This is why goodness has to become part of who you are.

You learn to receive it with trust, responsibility, and appreciation.

The Creator made a world where goodness can be chosen.

When a person chooses truth, repairs what they can, works on their character, and learns how to receive without entitlement, goodness becomes something they can enjoy without feeling crushed by shame.

They can receive it as relationship.

They can feel that they belong inside it.

That is a deeper kind of pleasure.

But this raises a difficult question.

If the Creator wants human beings to receive goodness with dignity, why make the story so painful?

Why create a world with so much confusion, sadness, idolatry, exile, shame, and suffering?

Why make relationship with Him something humanity has to struggle to discover?

The answer begins with choice.

Relationship cannot be forced.

A person can be frightened into obedience, controlled into behavior, or overwhelmed by power, but love and belonging have to be chosen.

For choice to feel real, more than one path has to feel possible.

Truth has to feel possible.

Confusion also has to feel possible.

Relationship with the Creator has to feel possible.

Separateness has to feel possible too.

If the Creator's goodness were impossible to miss, the nervous system would not experience a meaningful choice. It would simply react to something overwhelming and obvious.

That would not be the same kind of relationship.

Real pleasure grows when a person can recognize goodness while confusion is still possible, trust that goodness, choose it, and become able to receive it without shame.

That is why hiddenness matters.

The sadness of this world is not that the Creator is absent.

The sadness is that His goodness is hidden enough for people to misunderstand Him, run from Him, distort Him, or replace Him with false ideas about who He is.

The Infinite Creator is not a human being.

He is not a damaged personality.

He is not one more being inside the universe.

He is the Source of existence itself, the King of the universe, and His goodness can be hidden without ever being absent.

Human history is the story of learning how to belong to truth.

Adam and Eve were placed inside a world of goodness, but human beings were also able to experience themselves as separate from the Creator.

That felt separation creates room for fear, shame, suspicion, and survival mode.

The serpent did not create that weakness.

It spoke into it.

Maybe the Creator is holding something back.

Maybe His command is not really for your good.

Maybe being separate from Him will give you more pleasure.

That kind of thinking teaches the nervous system to distrust goodness.

And once fear gets practiced, it can be passed through families, relationships, habits, and culture.

That survival pattern can take different forms.

Fight says, "I have to control."

Flight says, "I have to escape."

Freeze says, "I have to shut down."

Fawn says, "I have to please people to stay safe."

These patterns do not only lead to bad choices.

They can also create self-hatred, because once a person stops trusting goodness, responsibility can feel like humiliation and correction can feel like proof that they are worthless.

That is how confusion turns into shame.

And a huge part of human history is learning how to stop living inside that confusion and start living inside truth.

This is where healthy sadness matters.

Healthy sadness is not despair.

It is the pain of realizing that more of the Creator's goodness could be revealed in the world, in other people, and in your own life.

That sadness belongs to love.

Love contains joy because some goodness and closeness are already revealed, but love also contains sadness because you want more of that goodness to become visible.

That sadness can become longing.

You can feel:

"I want to know You more."

"I want to feel Your closeness more clearly."

"I want more goodness revealed."

Sadness can also deepen awe because it makes you look more carefully at the Creator, His purpose, and what your choices can help reveal.

This is why sadness protects real pleasure.

If you stop caring that goodness is hidden, it becomes easy to settle for fake pleasure.

You can settle for distraction, ego, approval, control, or being wanted by people who do not truly know you.

Real pleasure comes from relationship with truth.

It comes from receiving goodness without running from responsibility.

It comes from awe that creates humility instead of shame, trust that keeps you in the relationship, and love that holds both joy and sadness.

Repair turns that inner work into action.

Sadness can create longing.

Longing can create responsibility.

Responsibility can lead to repair.

Repair can deepen relationship.

And relationship is one of the deepest forms of pleasure a human being can experience.

The Jewish people have a unique role in receiving the Creator's wisdom, studying it, living it, praying through it, and revealing His oneness through Torah and mitzvos.

Receiving deeply is not passive.

To receive truth, understand it, carry it, live it, and reveal it through ordinary life takes strength.

The nations also have a real role in the purpose of creation.

Through justice, honesty, courage, responsibility, care for human dignity, and the Noahide path, a non-Jew can help build a world that is able to recognize and reveal the Creator's goodness.

That person is not outside the story.

They are part of the story.

The purpose of creation is not a competition over who matters more.

The Jewish people are not meant to erase the nations, and the nations are not meant to replace the Jewish people.

A healthy world is built when different people understand their responsibilities and use their strengths to reveal more goodness in the place they were given.

Oneness does not require everyone to become the same.

It means different people can remain different while joining the same purpose:

revealing the goodness of the One Creator in the world.
