Your survival patterns are just the training wheels for your soul.

When the Light Feels Unsafe

Listen to this articleReady

Healing isn’t just feeling better.

It’s becoming a vessel that can hold the light that once created your darkness.

That light isn’t just “good feelings.”

It’s the mystery of the Creator’s unity—limitless, borderless, beyond what the mind can hold.

To the ego, that vastness feels like losing control.

To a nervous system shaped by trauma, it can feel like stepping into a sky with no ground beneath you.

It’s like a wave trying to stay separate from the ocean it came from—

terrified that if it surrenders, it will stop existing.

That’s what darkness really is:

not the absence of the Creator, but the fear of dissolving into Him.

So you patch the cracks in your jar with survival patterns:

1. Fight — “If I’m in control, nothing can hurt me.”

2. Flight — “If I keep moving, I won’t have to face the unknown.”

3. Freeze — “If I stay small, the mystery might pass me by.”

4. Fawn — “If I keep everyone happy, I’ll be safe.”

They’re not choices—they’re reflexes.

They keep the jar from breaking… but also keep the light out.

Healing doesn’t mean smashing the jar.

It means you no longer need the patches.

And when they fall away—
the light that once felt unsafe becomes the very thing you can hold… and share.

And here’s the real beauty:

When that light lives in you, it naturally spills over.

You speak to yourself with more gentleness.

You meet others with more patience.

You become a greater source of compassion—
because you’re not pouring from fear anymore, but from the infinite.

The world doesn’t change when you heal—
you change, and that’s what changes the world.

The blog lists all the difference patterns to study, understanding patterns is how one can develop 'Daas' [felt knowing].
Update: As awe, trust, and love deepen, they can allow greater openness and intimacy with the Creator. That intimacy can include sadness when you notice how much more of His goodness can be revealed.
