Why Do We Feel Disconnected From G-d?
Because to exist is to feel separate.
That’s what it means to be a “something.” (yesh)
But that’s not a punishment, it’s the design.
If we were one with G-d completely,
we’d dissolve back into infinity.
No choice.
No love.
No awe.
So He built a world
where we could feel distance
and choose connection.
That’s the paradox:
our pain is real,
and it’s also how His unconditional love
becomes real through us.
How Does Our Longing Bring G-d’s Love Into the World?
Every moment of longing,
every hunger for meaning,
every sadness for what feels missing
is how His essence,
Infinite Love,
enters the human story.
And through life’s struggles,
we become capable of feeling joy without shame,
because we helped transform our bodies
through refining our personalities,
turning them into vessels
that can hold more light (blessing),
more love,
and more truth.
Why Isn’t Pain the Opposite of G-dliness?
And when we start noticing
how G-d is kind,
G-dliness spreads around the world,
because that awareness
moves us to do acts of G-dliness:
acts of goodness with boundaries.
Pain isn’t the opposite of G-dliness.
It’s the space where we meet Him.
Even the feeling of “missing”
is how He’s already reaching for you.

Questions people ask
What does it mean to be a “something” (yesh)?
To be a “something” (yesh) is to exist as a separate self instead of staying merged with G-d. If we were one with G-d completely, we would dissolve back into infinity, with no choice, no love, and no awe. So G-d built a world where we could feel distance and choose connection.
Is the distance we feel from G-d a punishment?
No. This distance isn’t a punishment, it’s the design. Our pain is real, and it’s also how G-d’s unconditional love becomes real through us. Every moment of longing, every hunger for meaning, and every sadness for what feels missing is how His essence, Infinite Love, enters our story.
What does it mean to become a “vessel” for G-d’s light, love, and truth?
Refining our personalities through life’s struggles turns our bodies into vessels that can hold more light (blessing), more love, and more truth. Doing that inner work is also what lets us feel joy without shame, because we helped build the very vessel that now holds it.
How does noticing G-d's kindness change how we live?
Noticing how G-d is kind moves us to do our own acts of goodness with boundaries — the emotional skill of boundaries in action. Pain isn’t the opposite of G-dliness, it’s the space where we meet Him, and even the feeling of “missing” is Him already reaching for you.

The blog lists all the difference patterns to study, understanding patterns is how one can develop 'Daas' [felt knowing].
Update: As awe, trust, and love deepen, they can allow greater openness and intimacy with the Creator. That intimacy can include sadness when you notice how much more of His goodness can be revealed.
